About Amity University
Amity University, Noida, also known as Amity University Uttar Pradesh, is an Indian private research institution in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. It was created in 2005 by an act passed by the Uttar Pradesh state legislature. The university holds an ‘A+’ accreditation from the NAAC and is recognized by the University Grants Commission. It has multiple campuses in India and branches abroad in Uzbekistan, London, Dubai, Singapore, and Mauritius.
History of Amity University
The Ritnand Balved Education Foundation created Amity University on March 24, 2005, by virtue of The Amity University Uttar Pradesh Act, 2005 (Act 11 of 2005) passed by the UP Vidhan Sabha.
It was the first private university in India to introduce student merit-based scholarships and reservations. There were reportedly over 80,000 students enrolled in 240 programs at the school in 2011.
